Trekking in Nepal

Trekking in Nepal

Trekking & Life Changes — trekking without affecting local communities and environment.

Nepal is home to eight of the world’s ten highest mountains, and trekking is the best way to meet them — and the people who live beneath them. We are based in Lakeside, Pokhara, the gateway to the Annapurna treks, and every trek we run is built around responsible tourism: local guides and porters, eco-friendly lodges and money that stays in the mountain villages.

Not sure which trek suits you? Compare the trip facts on each page, or tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll tailor one to your dates and fitness.

Annapurna Region

Starting right from our door in Pokhara, the Annapurna region has it all — the classic Annapurna Base Camp (Sanctuary) trek, sunrise over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna from Poon Hill, the newer Mardi Himal trail, the Kali Gandaki valley to Jomsom and Muktinath, and the trans-Himalayan landscapes of Mustang.

Dolpo Region

Dolpo is the most remote corner of the trans-Himalayan mid-west of Nepal — a land of mystery and peace where villages of Tibetan stock still live, farm and trade as they have for centuries. Expect high passes, Phoksundo Lake, isolated Buddhist monasteries and wildlife such as blue sheep and the legendary snow leopard. Most Dolpo treks take 14–30 days; the best season is the end of the monsoon, September to November.

Everest & Langtang

The Everest trek follows the medieval trans-Himalayan trade route of the Sherpas — through Namche Bazaar and Tengboche Monastery to Everest Base Camp and the classic close-up view of Everest from Kala Patthar. Closer to Kathmandu, the Langtang valley offers glaciers, yak pastures and Tamang villages.
